REALTECH: Quarterly figures for Q1/2001· Expected sales goal achieved· EBIT better than planned


Walldorf, 9 May 2001. REALTECH AG has increased its sales in the first quarter of 2001 by 30% to EUR 12.3 Mio. (compared with EUR 9.4 Mio. in the first quarter of 2000), thus slightly exceeding its original planned sales of EUR 12.1 Mio.

Compared to Q1/2000, Software sales increased by 22% to EUR 1.0 Mio. (from EUR 0.8 Mio.), but – due to delays in the delivery of theGuard! Release 2.0 – fell short of the figures that the company had planned. This was compensated by the growth in the area of TechnologyConsulting where sales increased by 29% to EUR 11.1 Mio. (from EUR 8.6 Mio.). The company’s third segment, Hosting, contributed EUR 0.2 Mio. to the total sales.

EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization) achieved a result of EUR 0.3 Mio. compared with EUR 1.0 Mio. in Q1/2000. The Operating Income (EBIT) amounts to minus EUR 0.5 Mio. (compared to EUR 0.3 Mio.). REALTECH originally expected an EBIT of minus ÉUR 1.0 Mio. for Q1/2001. The Corporate Net Income is minus EUR 0.5 Mio. (compared to minus EUR 0.15 Mio.). This corresponds to Earnings per Share of minus EUR 0.10 (compared to minus EUR 0.03).
