Walldorf, June 12, 2007 - Westdeutsche Lotterie GmbH & Co. OHG (WestLotto), Germany's largest state lottery company, decided to cooperate with REALTECH in a platform migration from TRU64/Oracle to Red Hat Linux/Oracle.
The two main reasons for migrating the systems were: the financial benefits of the more cost-effective Red Hat Linux/Oracle alternative and the fact that the implementation of a high-performing Linux platform lays the foundation for future release upgrades such as the introduction of mySAP ERP 2005.
The new platform under Red Hat Linux is future-proof, less expensive, and faster than the previous one. This allows WestLotto to reduce spending on IT systems. REALTECH will manage the entire changeover and migration to the new Linux platform. The Walldorf-based SAP specialist REALTECH was able to impress the customer with its experience from more than 400 migration projects worldwide. "In addition to the technical advantages of the platform migration, we placed great emphasis on working with a capable and experienced consultancy. REALTECH fully satisfied all of the requirements," explains Michael Deitmar, head of the division of Internet and SAP Services at WestLotto.
