SAP ABAP and Java applications always on track

TransportManager 5.1 allows for the implementation of a reliable and consistent change management of ABAP and Java applications in SAP NetWeaver

Walldorf, April 10, 2008 - With TransportManager 5.1, REALTECH AG offers SAP customers the possibility to synchronously distribute interdependent ABAP and Java objects in a SAP NetWeaver system landscape.

The introduction of SAP NetWeaver increases the level of heterogeneity in SAP landscapes. In these networked system landscapes, which are comprised of development, quality assurance, and production systems, the required synchronization of ABAP and Java changes could only be guaranteed through extraordinary organizational efforts. The risks arising from this highly error-prone manual method are now eliminated with REALTECH's TransportManager.

This guarantees, for example, the simultaneous import of Java-based SAP portal elements for the visualization of certain data and of the corresponding APAB function modules of the ERP system for the procurement of these data into the appropriate productive environment. By defining predecessor/successor relationships or companion relationships between ABAP and Java transports, a synchronization can be guaranteed even if different organizational structures are in charge of the approval process in both areas.

Thanks to the fact that the product can be easily integrated into existing SAP landscapes, customers will be able to benefit from its main features without much effort even in the world of Java: the safe and controlled distribution of changes for the avoidance of collisions and version mismatches.

The new solution is based on the Enhanced Change and Transport System (CTS+) introduced by SAP for SAP NetWeaver 2004s that consolidates and harmonizes former stand-alone solutions in the field of SAP software logistics.
