Walldorf, August 2,
2012: REALTECH AG, a
provider of software solutions for enterprise-wide IT management and SAP
consultancy, is now shipping the new version 7.1 of its theGuard! Service
Management Center. Its unified interface, even higher level of automation, and
new features contribute significantly to improving the efficiency of IT support
and help companies monitor and analyze the performance of their complex IT
landscapes. REALTECH's central Configuration Management Database (CMDB) serves
as a conceptual and technical foundation for all IT service management
activities. The software combines automatic discovery and topology views of
networks – now also including SAP and virtualization – to create new correlated
views of the system landscape.
Automatically discovering and monitoring SAP systems even in virtualized
environments
The interplay between the new business connectors for
VMware vSphere and SAP ensures visibility into the relationships both within
virtualized landscapes and between physical and virtualized IT infrastructures.
SAP application servers, for example, that are installed on virtualized hosts
but access databases that are housed on physical servers can now be easily
integrated into the monitoring framework. The automatic analysis of the signal
path between vSwitch (virtual switch) and pSwitch (physical switch) allows for
a fast identification and elimination of performance problems within
virtualized environments. theGuard! also comes with all the necessary tools to
analyze the performance of applications that are hosted in the public or
private cloud or as hybrid solutions.
The built-in monitoring
policies that are already equipped with the most important monitoring scenarios
keep the administrative burden to a minimum. All system components are
automatically detected and incorporated into the monitoring framework without
requiring user intervention, allowing anyone to quickly and easily monitor SAP
landscapes in virtualized environments without specialized training.
Easily managing complex Windows servers farms across multiple sites
It is now possible to
monitor and control complex server systems that are distributed across multiple
sites in a central and agentless manner. The necessary settings can be
configured from a central location.
New reporting dashboard provides comprehensive analysis optionsThe servicedesk component of
theGuard! Service Management Center in particular benefits from the enhanced
analysis options. Visual statistics of, for example, average processing times
of trouble tickets by category or the number of trouble tickets in a certain
status, give IT managers an at-a-glance overview of whether service level
compliance is at risk and how their own department is currently performing.
Improved usability through new navigation options
New navigation options and
detail views in the Control Center, the user interface of theGuard! Service
Management Center, make it significantly easier to identify and resolve
application failures. The "Dependency Walker" allows users to take a
virtual tour of the network and gives them intuitive and easy-to-use drill-down
mechanisms that let them get to the bottom of a problem in no time.
The new version 7.1 of
theGuard! Service Management Center will be available starting in August. For
