theGuard! ApplicationManager stores all data (events, performance counter) in a central Microsoft SQL Server database. This database is the source for all reports.
The reports are configured and managed by a separate application called theGuard! Reporting Console. This application uses almost any services of the Microsoft Reporting Services:
- data preparation (DB connections, data calculation)
- rendering for the various formats
- scheduling
Furthermore the Microsoft Reporting Services themselves offer different possibilities (e.g. the Report Designer) to let the user redesign reports.
The adoption of the Reporting Services in theGuard! ApplicationManager 3.0 in part has accelerated the creation of reports up to the factor of 10.
