There are currently over 350 PSMs available for various products and vendors. These modules are continually kept up-to-date, supplemented and expanded project specific. This gives theGuard! NetworkManager the distinction of being the only network management system with which a network administrator can implement new products to his system without any problems, because REALTECH can deliver the adequate PSM almost at once.
As sole worldwide manufacturer, REALTECH guarantees the integration of network components
- which are managed via SNMP
- for whom MIBs (in ASN.1 notation) have been made available to us
- and for whom a test system has been made available to us
at a standard price!
REALTECH bears all developmental expense risk. To date, each product integration has been realized within a period of roughly four to six weeks. We furthermore guarantee that modifications to product versions and/or new modules will be adapted within the shortest time frame possible and made available to our users under the conditions of our maintenance/service concept.
Because of the variety of products not all modules and types can be tested. PSMs for devices (network and system components) not included in the PSM list will be created new as required, provided that the MIB is accessible and a test device has been made available for our reference. Should on-site adjustments be necessary, expenditures will be charged in accordance with the currently valid price list (see day rate).
In substantial the decision, to which product family a PSM, which can be developed, belongs, depends on the MIB. If a majority of the SNMP data can be managed by the same MIB, an already existing PSM is extended. If, however, a product is to a large extent shown in a new MIB tree, a new PSM is provided and must be charged. In all cases REALTECH reserves itself after analysis of so called Browsefiles, if an existent PSM must be extended or a new PSM must be developed.
We assume no guarantee for the flawless precision of the SNMP functions on the part of the respective manufacturer. In case of an error it is incumbent on the customer, to cause problem solution with the respective manufacturer.
The following Product Specific Modules (PSMs) are available. Adaptions to other products are possible within a brief interval of time. Not all modules/types are tested. The product bundles theGuard! Networkmanager Classic, theGuard! Networkmanager Advanced/Terminalserver edition (see current price list) contain one, respectivly three PSM at your own choice. Of course, additional PSMs can be purchased at any time.
The RMON tools level1, included in the bundles, support the following RMON-groups: Statistic; History; Alarm, Event; Host; Matrix. The RMON groups Filter;ˇ Packet Capturing; Packet Decoding and RMON II support require RMON tools II in addition and are marked inside the list. The necessary PSMs have to be purchased separately.
Types of device, which are supported by the Topology Manager (Layer 2), are indicated below correspondingly. Device types with integrated VLAN functions additionally require the VLAN View Manager and are indicated below correspondingly.
