theGuard! ApplicationManager provides multiple functions that enable companies to automate their monitoring activities. The monitoring is configured by means of central rule sets that are assigned to the data collectors. These will then autonomously collect the desired data from the monitored computers and periodically transfer it to the ApplicationManager server.

New objects (such as new log files) can be automatically included in the monitoring activities. If incidents or threshold violations occur, the system will trigger automatic responses that either notify the administrators in charge or even eliminate the error. Using expert tools, detected errors can be corrected directly in the monitored applications.

A data collector uniquely identifies application instances and their objects. Users can thus easily and quickly add new objects either manually or by using the auto discovery feature. The auto discovery feature can automatically assign rule sets, making it possible to immediately monitor new objects. Newly discovered objects can be added to the monitors to keep all overviews up to date.

Configurations for basic data collector attributes like clock speed or user login can be easily replicated for objects of the same application type using drag & drop.

A server application is used to ensure the secure, reliable, and traceable execution of responses and the delivery of alerts. The server can be made redundant to increase reliability and distribute the load. In addition to event-triggered responses, time-triggered responses can be carried out as well. Furthermore, the software allows for cascading and parallel responses, including escalation scenarios that satisfy shift operation requirements.

theGuard! ApplicationManager supports more than 50 different response types that can be easily configured through a wizard.

The values and events collected and generated by theGuard! ApplicationManager are visualized in an online dashboard to help administrators analyze problem situations. The dashboard gives them maximum flexibility. They can easily combine any of the available charts and arrange them in the order they want. Virtually any requirement placed on management views and reports today can be satisfied. The speed of visualization allows them to display large volumes data, e.g. for yearly reviews, within a matter of seconds.
