Auto-discovery of IT assets

Auto-discovery populates your CMDB in a fully automated way. The integrated monitoring continuously records status information and changes. All objects, their properties and status are thus always up-to-date and centrally available.

Auto-Discovery - Normalisierung der Daten

Normalization of infrastructure data

The SmartCMDB normalizes or standardizes all infrastructure data that is scanned and captured by auto-discovery. Thus, data and information of a heterogeneous IT infrastructure data can be compared and evaluated immediately.

Clear mapping of IT assets

The Mapping functionality ensures the unambiguous assignment of data and status information. This makes it possible to connect any source quickly and flexibly.

Import Connectors

The SmartCMDB has a large number of different Import Connectors. This allows you to use established source systems to quickly and easily build up a database.

The captured data can be combined and correlated as desired to support your business processes in the best possible way.

Auto-discovery of cloud assets

With Cloud Asset Discovery, data from the various components of your cloud provider (Azure, Google, AWS, etc.) can be easily read out. The data is stored as CIs in the SmartCMDB according to a defined mapping structure.

Stored data structures

The following data or data structures are stored in the smart CMDB by default: Virtual machines Size information about CPU, RAM, etc. Operating system Storage or hard disk data such as number, size, etc. Networks Storage MSSQL databases Max. size Pool membership Most recent restore date Docker container Name of the image used License of the images, if publicly available RAM, CPU, etc. Data about events like image pull, container start, etc. IP addresses, shared ports, etc. Kubernetes cluster Kubernetes version, DNS prefix Agent pool data such as OS type, max. number of pods, max. disk size, number of availability zones, etc. Network data Of course, other available data can also be individually transferred from the cloud to the smart CMDB.

Keeping an eye on hybrid IT structures

Efficient hybrid cloud management is an essential component of a modern, future-oriented IT service management. With SmartCMDB, you lay the foundation for the successful orchestration of your hybrid IT infrastructure.

Benefits of a CMDB with auto-discovery

  • Fast and simple population of your CMDB
  • Always up-to-date data through continuous alignment
  • Reliable normalization of infrastructure data
  • Clear mapping of all captured IT assets
  • Single point of truth, even in hybrid landscapes
